Free trials are actually NOT FREE. Here’s how we make them free again

I have been a fan of free trials.

Recently, I developed an appetite to watch “Modern Family” once again, after many years. It was available only on “Peacock”, which was interestingly one of the few streaming services that I didn’t have. I hesitated to add yet another subscription. I wasn’t sure if I would watch Modern Family more than once.

Luckily, Peacock offers a free trial. I put my credit card down and set a calendar alert for 6 days later. After 7 days and 12 episodes of Modern Family, I was convinced to start paying for the monthly subscription plan. Since then, we have a healthy relationship with Peacock.

Unfortunately, the story does not end this good for many people. A Hiatus survey found out that more than 70% of the consumers say they continue paying for unwanted subscriptions because they simply forget to cancel the service before it’s renewed.”

This is crazy!

ScribeUp’s approach

How A Chrome Extension Solves This

Our new service, ScribeUp, is a response to this crazy problem.

Our Chrome extension signs you up for free trials, without asking for your credit card. So, your personal credit card always stays safe.

Moreover, our free Chrome extension automatically manages your free trial. Before the free trial is over, it pops up a simple question for you.

“Would you like to Keep or Unsubscribe?”

You will only get charged if you click on “Keep” and provide us with your credit card. Otherwise you are safe….

…even if you don’t click on anything.

The best part is that ScribeUp is a free tool.

We don’t charge any commission or transaction fee. In fact, we lose money at each transaction due to managing virtual credit cards and payments. Our plan is to take a transaction fee from subscription service providers for each conversion (like Honey or Rakuten) in the future.

But, first things first.

We are launching ScribeUp soon for a limited set of users. Our first users will gain access to a great set of free trials.

Drop your email now to get early access.
